Greater Agadir is modernizing its public transport network by integrating High Service Level Buses. This new mode of public transport, BHNS, represents a significant step forward in sustainable, modern and efficient mobility solutions offered to citizens.
The first HQPT line, 15.5 km long, will link the fishing port to Tikiouine, serve the main transport hubs and carry around 12,000,000 passengers a year, with 30 new buses on a 35-station dedicated track and departures every 5 minutes during rush hours.
Carried out by the Société de Développement Local Grand Agadir pour la Mobilité et les Déplacements Urbains (GAMDU), the project’s delegated project manager, on behalf of the project owner, the Groupement des Collectivités Territoriales (GCT) “Grand Agadir pour le Transport et la Mobilité Urbaine”, with a budget of 1.4 billion dhs to complete the project according to the schedule set out in the Agadir PDU 2020-2024.
SOLVING THE PROBLEMS OF REGULARITY AND PUNCTUALITY CAUSED BY THE SHARING OF ROADWAYS BETWEEN DIFFERENT MODES IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF BHNS.
Today, on Monday July 22, 2024, in the presence of city and regional officials, we celebrate the presentation ceremony of the first vehicle of the BHNS Project, which is designed to provide a fast, frequent and reliable public transport service. It unifies the qualities of traditional buses and the performance of exclusive right-of-way public transport to guarantee citizens two main conditions for satisfying the daily use of public transport being :
- Comfort: The BHNS is carefully fitted out with modern equipment and systems to ensure customer comfort.
- Accessibility: The new BHNS will provide easy access for people with reduced mobility, with ramps and dedicated interior spaces.
- Punctuality: Thanks to the dedicated platform and prioritization at junctions, the BHNS will ensure fast, punctual journeys.
THE VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED AT THE MAN FACTORIES IN GERMANY, WITH LOCAL INTEGRATION AT THE MAN MAROC “SEFAMAR” SITE IN CASABLANCA.
The new buses were manufactured at the German MAN plant in Poland and then delivered to the “SEFAMAR” MAN Morocco site for installation of the various equipment and systems required for national integration.
With a production process that complies with international quality standards, rigorous work has gone into each bus, locally, to integrate advanced technologies such as the SAEIV (Système d’aide à l’exploitation et à l’information voyageur), ticketing, the SLT (Système de priorisation aux carrefours) and video surveillance cameras.
The first production head represents a successful prototype, embodying the efforts made to prepare a modern bus that meets the highest standards.
NEW BUSES EQUIPPED WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY, COMFORT AND DESIGN, INSIDE AND OUT.
